Top 10 Reasons Why The Future of America Depends on Survivalists & Preppers

Top 10 Reasons Why The Future of America Depends on Survivalists & Preppers
Posted by David Morris on November 24, 2010 Welcome to this week’s Urban Survival Newsletter. This week, I’m re-running an article that I wrote last November. Twelve months later, I wouldn’t change a thing…except to add more urgency for people to get prepared.

I hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. I’m very thankful for family, friends, and the others who read the Urban Survival Newsletter and send in great emails and comments. I really appreciate you.

One of the things that I kept finding ironic this weekend is that the first Thanksgiving was a celebration by the pilgrims of having enough to eat after switching from a collective socialism to a free market economy. As we celebrate their success, our leaders are rapidly trying to repeat their original failed collective experiment.

Which means that it’s going to be that much more important for families to be self reliant. Self reliant people and preppers have always been and will always been a stabilizing force and a foundation for societies, and with that in mind, I present the Thanksgiving 2010 Urban Survival Newsletter.

There has been a lot of derogatory talk lately about “preppers” and “survivalists” and I’d like to take a minute to point out 10 reasons why preppers and survivalists have always been vital to the United States and why it is essential that we have as many as possible to survive future disasters.

1. FEMA–The cost for local, state, and federal agencies to plan, equip, and staff for EVERY disaster that might happen is cost prohibitive. When disasters strike, government is quick to talk, quick to “ramp up”, but government help is slow to come and inefficient when it arrives.

Survivalists and preppers on the other hand are able to act quickly and efficiently to take care of their own house and provide stability, structure, and assistance for their streets, neighborhoods, and beyond.

2. Stable Base–An organization (or nation) of people with specialized skills may accomplish great things when everything is going smoothly, but it quickly fall apart when trouble comes. The survivalist & prepper mindset of “Jack of all trades, master of ONE” makes for a stable organization (or nation).

3. Joseph in the Bible–Preppers/survivalists have been around saving the day since the beginning of time. In Genesis 37-50, Joseph sees trouble coming and prepares for seven years. At the end of seven years, a severe drought/famine hits that lasts for the next seven years. Because of Joseph’s preparations, Egypt survived the drought/famine and was able to help the surrounding nations.

4. Founding Fathers–With the Constitution and Bill of Rights, our founding fathers pushed responsibility from the federal government down to the individual citizen and promoted a survivalist/prepper. They did it with the 2nd and 4th amendments, they did it by example (Washington leading a mostly barefoot army across the Delaware,) and they did it throughout their writing, “Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the vote.” –Ben Franklin

5. Siege warfare–Many of the things that happened after Katrina are textbook examples of why siege warfare is so effective. The normal city has a 3 day supply of food. The normal prepper has a 6-24 MONTH supply of food.

Which do you think is more stable in the event of a siege that is due to disasters or war? If you ONLY focus on food and water supplies, a city/county/region/country with many preppers will be much more resilient to being cut off from outside help than one with few preppers.

6. Independent from the government–How much leverage does an energy tax (or most other taxes) have on a family who’s living off the grid? The more self-reliant you are, the less control the government can exert over your life through taxes.

7. Criminals fear the aware and prepared–This is fairly straight forward. Preppers & survivalists gradually become more aware and prepared than the average person. This will show itself in your walk, in your eyes, and how you carry yourself. In short, you stop looking like a wounded gazelle and more like a badger…cute & cuddly, but ready to do anything necessary to stop a threat to him/herself or loved ones.

8. Tyrants fear survivalists and preppers–In addition to living a lifestyle that insulates them from siege, some taxes, and being nannied, survivalists and preppers are usually well armed & seek advanced training. Good men have nothing to fear from an armed populace, but tyrants who seek to control the lives of others will always try to disarm them first through confiscation, taxation, or pressure through media and the educational system.

It worked for Hitler, Mao, and many more narcissistic, mass murders suffering from munchausen by proxy throughout the ages. So far back, in fact, that Aristotle spoke extensively about how, in any society, those who control the arms control the state.

9. More preppers = fewer refugees & faster recovery from disasters—After a local, regional, or national disaster, the number of refugees will be inversely proportional to the number of preppers & survivalists in the area. In other words, the more preppers you have in an area, the less strain the hospitals, volunteer organizations, and government run refugee centers will have.

10. More able to help their fellow man—After a disaster, you’re not going to see very many refugees donating their food/supplies/time. It’s not that they don’t want to, but rather it’s because they are in a fight for their lives and may be dehydrated, hungry, and tired.

Preppers and survivalists who have food storage, water or water treatment tools, and who have prepared themselves psychologically for disasters will be able to help in several ways. First, they’re less likely to become refugees or use the time/resources of first responders. Second, since they ARE prepared for disasters, they can help the people in their immediate area which will lessen the load on first responders and reduce the number of refugees. Third, by helping themselves and their neighbors, preppers will increase the quality of care for people who DO end up still needing first responder care or to relocate to a refugee center.

In short, the more survivalists and preppers that we have, the more stable our families, cities, and the country as a whole are. If you believe in this message, please forward it to your friends and family, tweet it, and link to it from your website or Facebook page.

If you have any interest in getting prepared for disasters in populated areas, you should really sign up for the SurviveInPlace.com Urban Survival Course. You can read more about it by going here: http://SurviveInPlace.com

Other people like you who’ve taken the course agree that it is the best book or course on surviving disaster in an urban environment that they’ve ever read. Here’s what Doug in California had to say:

“In 23 years service in the Air Force, I completed both arctic and jungle survival training, many combat/battlefield skills courses, and I served under daily fire in Vietnam. I think I’m fairly well prepared to survive the environmental hazards.

However, your course has significantly broadened my perspective when it comes to urban survival and surviving both the good and malicious intent of my fellow citizens. Thank you so much for digging out the information and for shortening the learning process.”

New IRS Tax Trap Alert from Lee Bellinger

Fr:Lee Bellinger
Publisher

Re:Turning the Tables on the Greedy "Tax Man"

In the upcoming edition of Independent Living newsletter, we alert all of our active paid subscribers how to side-step some pretty complicated tax-traps the Treasury Department has created. It is important you absorb this information as soon as it hits your mail box next week:
1. Concerning your investments, there are complex new "cost-basis" reporting requirements coming. You need to be able to make these new "cost-basis" calculations correctly or you will fall victim to premature taxation under the IRS' so-called FIFO rule.
2. In a related story, the December edition of Independent Living also gives you concrete steps you can take now, before the year closes out, to reduce your tax load.
3. And finally, we are offering all readers a FREE report called 10 New Tax Ambushes to Be on Guard Against. You may access this informative free report online right here. http://www.independentlivingnews.com/pdf/2010_tax_ambushes.pdf?utm_source=Publicaster&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=101128%20-%20LBEB:%20Tax%20Man&utm_term=You+may+access+this+informative+free+report+online+right+here&AID=2334

Now, I want to take a moment to show you how to even the score if you or someone you know is ever targeted by the IRS.
Look, if you are a productive person, the chances of an intrusive IRS audit of your total financial picture is much higher than ever before. Worse, the IRS is armed with far more resources and high-level political support to put the screws on small businesses than at any time in history.
You May Soon Need to Know
What the IRS Knows About You
I want to show you how to find out exactly what the IRS knows about you.
Let me explain more about why that has become so important. It's no secret that the IRS is by nature a secretive agency and would generally like taxpayers to be as ignorant as possible as to how it functions. To the IRS, it's an "us against them" battle, and they believe they have to guard their secrets zealously.
One of the IRS's best kept secrets is the Individual Master File (IMF) it keeps on each individual taxpayer. The IRS Handbook for Special Agents describes the Individual Master File as "a magnetic tape record of all individual income tax filers, in Social Security sequence, and... all tax data and related information pertaining to individual income taxpayers are posted to the IMF so that the file reflects a continuously updated and current record of each taxpayer's account."
Your IMF reveals:
basic identifying information (Social Security number, name, address, etc.);
your spouse's name and Social Security number;
what types of forms you have filed with the IRS;
if IRS has identified you as a non-filer (and whether you are classified as a "tax protestor" or whether the Service assumes that you aren't required to file);
your recorded "income" (wages, dividends, etc.);
any penalties you have been hit with;
any liens, levies, or criminal charges filed (or perhaps pending).
An even bigger secret of which few taxpayers are aware is their right to obtain a copy of their IMF and demand that any errors it contains be corrected. Armed with this information, you may be able to:
protect yourself against bogus determinations, assessments, penalties, and enforcement actions that an IRS agent may threaten;
find out if the IRS has given up trying to collect on an old tax liability;
find out if the IRS owes you money;
determine whether the IRS is planning to audit you;
determine whether the IRS is planning to bring criminal charges against you;
identify other problems that you could run into in the future.
The IRS stores IMFs and BMFs (Business Master Files) in a database known as the Integrated Data Retrieval System. An IRS employee at any local IRS office around the country can access the Integrated Data Retrieval System (and can quickly call up your file).
How to Demand a Copy of Your IRS File
The IRS has no form for requesting your Individual Master File, because it doesn't want you to have it. However, there is a law called the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) which you can use to force the IRS to send you the file it keeps on you.
Enacted in 1966, the Freedom of Information Act established a legal right of access to government information. To make a FOIA request, you need simply to write a letter explicitly asserting your rights under the Act. Your FOIA request must be signed with proof of your identity. The U.S. Department of the Treasury advises citizens who initiate FOIA requests as follows:
To protect the confidentiality of information and to prevent an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy, you must:

sign your request; and,
establish your right to receive the requested documents by providing a photocopy of an identifying document bearing your signature (such as a driver's license, identification badge, or passport), or a notarized statement swearing to or affirming your identity.
Send your letter and any enclosures via certified mail (go here to locate the correct submission address). You can contact the IRS FOIA headquarters office directly by phone (770-234-4374) with any questions or to verify that their FOIA policies haven't changed since the time of this writing.
The IRS's Response
Government agencies are required to fill your request, or explain why they cannot, within ten days. However, if the IRS claims an "unusual circumstances" extension, it could delay your request for weeks or months.
In general, you're more likely to get a prompt and thorough response if you make your request after the month of April. From January through April, the IRS tends to be swamped with letters, calls, and paperwork from tax filers. Don't be surprised if IRS tries to give you the run-around. The IRS has a poor track record for responding to FOIA requests. Part of the reason may be that some taxpayers who are in trouble with the IRS barrage the agency with FOIA requests in an effort to distract, slow down, and frustrate agents.
If the IRS stonewalls or denies your legitimate request for your Individual Master File, you can make an administrative appeal to someone higher up in the IRS hierarchy. If that fails, then the Freedom of Information Act provides you with the right to bring a civil lawsuit against the agency in an appropriate Federal district court (either in Washington, D.C. or where the requester resides). Direct your appeal to:
IRS Appeals
Attn: FOIA Appeals
5045 E. Butler Ave.
M/Stop 55201
Fresno, California 93727-5136
Important: FOIA regulations require that your appeal be postmarked within 35 days of a letter denying FOIA access.
Decoding the Hidden Information Contained in Your File
If you have succeeded in obtaining your Master File, congratulations! Unfortunately, you still have some work left to do.
Your IMF is not a plain-English document. It contains secret codes that are meant to be read by IRS computers or by those who have been trained to decipher the codes. The IRS does not attempt to make the IMF decipherable to the ordinary taxpayer. Instead, the copy of the IMF it sends out consists of numbers and letters that are meaningless to the untrained eye.
To decode your IMF, you need IRS 6209 Manual. The IRS is supposed to update this publication annually, but as of 2009 the latest version available to the public via the IRS web site is from 2003. You have the right under the Freedom of Information Act to view the most recent edition of 6209. You can either arrange to pay a visit to an IRS office to read the Manual or request that the IRS send you a copy. It's a thick publication and will cost around $50.

"The Gun Is Civilization"

THIS IS THE BEST WORDED PRO-GUN ARGUMENT I HAVE EVER READ.
Very good article, of course from a Marine !!!!

"The Gun Is Civilization"

Interesting take and one you don't hear much. . . . . .

As the Supreme Court hears arguments for and against the Chicago , IL Gun Ban,
I offer you another stellar example of a letter (written by a Marine), that places the proper perspective on what a gun means to a civilized society.

Read this eloquent and profound letter and pay close attention to the last paragraph of the letter....

"The Gun Is Civilization" by Maj. L. Caudill USMC (Ret)

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force.
If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of either convincing me via argument, or force me to do your bidding under threat of force.
Every human interaction falls into one of those two categories, without exception. Reason or force, that's it.

In a truly moral and civilized society, people exclusively interact through persuasion.
Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

When I carry a gun, you cannot deal with me by force.
You have to use reason and try to persuade me, because I have a way to negate your threat or employment of force.

The gun is the only personal weapon that puts a 100-pound woman on equal footing with a 220-pound mugger, a 75-year old retiree on equal footing with a 19-year old gang banger, and a single guy on equal footing with a carload of drunk guys with baseball bats. The gun removes the disparity in physical strength, size, or numbers between a potential attacker and a defender.

There are plenty of people who consider the gun as the source of bad force equations.
These are the people who think that we'd be more civilized if all guns were removed from society, because a firearm makes it easier for a [armed] mugger to do his job.
That, of course, is only true if the mugger's potential victims are mostly disarmed either by choice or by legislative fiat--it has no validity when most of a mugger's potential marks are armed.

People who argue for the banning of arms ask for automatic rule by the young, the strong, and the many, and that's the exact opposite of a civilized society. A mugger, even an armed one, can only make a successful living in a society where the state has granted him a force monopoly.

Then there's the argument that the gun makes confrontations lethal that otherwise would only result in injury.
This argument is fallacious in several ways. Without guns involved, confrontations are won by the physically superior party inflicting overwhelming injury on the loser.

People who think that fists, bats, sticks, or stones don't constitute lethal force watch too much TV, where people take beatings and come out of it with a bloody lip at worst.
The fact that the gun makes lethal force easier works solely in favor of the weaker defender, not the stronger attacker. If both are armed, the field is level.

The gun is the only weapon that's as lethal in the hands of an octogenarian as it is in the hands of a weight lifter.
It simply wouldn't work as well as a force equalizer if it wasn't both lethal and easily employable.

When I carry a gun, I don't do so because I am looking for a fight, but because I'm looking to be left alone.
The gun at my side means that I cannot be forced, only persuaded. I don't carry it because I'm afraid, but because it enables me to be unafraid. It doesn't limit the actions of those who would interact with me through reason, only the actions of those who would do so by force.
It removes force from the equation... and that's why carrying a gun is a civilized act.

By Maj. L. Caudill USMC (Ret.)

So the greatest civilization is one where all citizens are equally armed and can only be persuaded, never forced. This is worth printing and sharing with others!

OIL - reserves

OIL - you better sit down.

Ask why we’re not drilling for oil, in the Gulf, Pacific, and the Bakken?
Also ask how many jobs that would create?
And it would not require any stimulus $’s.

Here's an interesting read, important and verifiable information :

About 6 months ago, the writer was watching a news program on oil and
one of the Forbes Bros. was the guest. The host said to Forbes, "I am going
to ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer; how much oil
does the U.S. have in the ground?" Forbes did not miss a beat, he said, "more
than all the Middle East put together." Please read below.

The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April 2008 that only
scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a
revised report (hadn't been updated since 1995) on how much oil was in
this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota, western South Dakota, and
extreme eastern Montana ....... check THIS out:
http://bakkenshale.net/bakkenshalemap.html

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska's Prudhoe
Bay, and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign
oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion
barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at $107 a barrel,
we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5..3 trillion.

"When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see their
jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.." says Terry Johnson, the Montana
Legislature's financial analyst.

"This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found
in the past 56 years," reports The Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It's a
formation known as the Williston Basin, but is more commonly referred
to as the 'Bakken.' It stretches from Northern Montana, through North
Dakota and into Canada.. For years, U. S. oil exploration has been considered
a dead end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells
decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up
the Bakken's massive reserves.... and we now have access of up to 500
billion barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels
will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!

That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years
straight. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one
should - because it's from 2006!

U. S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World

Stansberry Report Online - 4/20/2006

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the
largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION
barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In
three and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this
motherload of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling?

They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders,
than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:

- 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia

- 18-times as much oil as Iraq

- 21-times as much oil as Kuwait

- 22-times as much oil as Iran

- 500-times as much oil as Yemen

- and it's all right here in the Western United States .

HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the
environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America
become independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group of
people dictate our lives and our economy.....WHY?

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in
this very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION
barrels untapped. That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in
the world today, reports The Denver Post.

Don't think 'OPEC' will drop its price - even with this find? Think
again!
It's all about the competitive marketplace, - it has to. Think OPEC just
might be funding the environmentalists?

Got your attention yet? Now, while you're thinking about it, do this:

Pass this along. If you don't take a little time to do this, then you
should stifle yourself the next time you complain about gas prices - by
doing NOTHING, you forfeit your right to complain.

--------

Now I just wonder what would happen in this country if every one of you
sent this to every one in your address book.

By the way...this is all true. Check it out at the link below!!!

GOOGLE it, or follow this link. It will blow your mind.

Welfare poem

Welfare Poem
...
I cross ocean,
poor and broke,
Take bus,
see employment folk.

Nice man treat me
good in there,
Say I need to
see welfare.

Welfare say,
'You come no more,
We send cash
right to your door.'

Welfare checks,
they make you wealthy,
Medicaid it keep
you healthy!

By and by,
I get plenty money,
Thanks to you,
American dummy.

Write to friends
in motherland,
Tell them 'come
fast as you can.'

They come in turbans
and Ford trucks,
I buy big house
with welfare bucks

They come here,
we live together,
More welfare checks,
it gets better!

Fourteen families,
they moving in,
But neighbor's patience
wearing thin.

Finally, white guy
moves away,
Now I buy his house,
and then I say,
'Find more aliens
for house to rent.'
And in the yard
I put a tent.

Send for family
they just trash,
But they, too,
draw the welfare cash!
Everything is
very good,
And soon we
own the neighborhood.

We have hobby
it's called breeding,
Welfare pay
for baby feeding.

Kid's need dentist?
Wife's need pills?
We get free!
We got no bills!

American's crazy!
He pay all year,
To keep welfare
running here.

We think America
darn good place!
Too darn good for
the white man race.
If they no like us,
they can scram,
Got lots of room in Gaza strip & Pakistan .

It is interesting that the federal government provides a
single refugee with a monthly allowance of $1,890..00
and each can also get an additional $580.00 in social assistance for a total of$2,470.00 .

This compares very well to a single pensioner who after contributing to the growth and development of America for 40 to 50 years can only receive a monthly maximum of $1,012.00 in old age pension and Guaranteed Income Supplement.

Maybe our pensioners should apply as refugees!

Lets send this to all Americans, so we can all be ticked off
and maybe we can get the refugees cut back to
$1,012.00 and the pensioners up to $2,470 00 and enjoy some of the money we were forced to submit to the Government over the last 40 or 50 years.

Please forward to every American to expose what our elected politicians have been doing over the past 11 years - to the over-taxed American.

SEND THIS TO EVERY AMERICAN TAXPAYER YOU KNOW

I don't know how true the numbers are, but it's more than I get.

Written by a Mexican

Not verified as stated in this website, but I like the content no matter the author.

http://community.marketwatch.com/groups/us-politics/topics/words-legal-mexican-immigrant

This was written by a Mexican who is now a naturalized US Citizen, and I think it's a great explanation of the illegal immigration issue.

Here is the quote:

"If you had tickets to a sports event, concert, Disneyland, or for an airline flight, and when you got to your assigned seat you found someone else was in that seat, what would you do? You would call for a person in charge of ticket checking and have the person in your seat removed. You would properly be asked to show your ticket, and you would gladly and proudly do so, for you have bought and paid for that seat. The person in your seat would also be asked for a ticket, which they would not be able to produce. They would be called "gate crashers" and they would properly be removed.

Now in this huge stadium called the USA we have had millions of gate crashers. We have been asking security to check for tickets and remove the gate crashers. We have been asking security to have better controls in checking at the door. We have asked security to lock the back doors. Security has failed us. They are still looking the other way. They are afraid to ask to see the tickets. Many people say there is unlimited seating, and whether there is or not, no one should be allowed in for free while the rest of us pay full price!

In "section AZ", of "Stadium USA", we have had enough of the failures of Security. We have decided to do our own ticket checking, and properly remove those who do not have tickets. Now it seems very strange to me that so many people in the other 49 "sections", and even many in our own "section" do not want tickets checked, or even to be asked to show their ticket! Even the head of Security is chastising us, while not doing his own job which he has sworn to do.

My own ticket has been bought and paid for, so I am proudly going to show it when asked to do so. I have a right to my seat, and I want the gate crashers to be asked to show their tickets too. The only reason that I can imagine anyone objecting to being asked for their ticket is that they are in favor of gate crashing, and all of the illegal activities that go with it, such as drug smuggling, gang wars, murder, human smuggling for profit, and many more illegal and inhumane acts that we are trying to prevent with our new legislation. Is that what I am hearing from all of the protestors such as Phoenix Mayor Gordon, US Rep. Grijalva, even President Obama? If you are not in favor of showing tickets, (proof of citizenship, passport, green card, or other legal document) when asked, as I would do proudly, then you must be condoning those illegal activities."

Written by a US Citizen, Globe, Arizona.

This makes perfect sense to me. What do you think?

CAN MUSLIMS BE GOOD AMERICANS?

I know and understand this to be true. I lived in Saudi Arabia for two years. There is no tolerance for any other religon in SA and in fact any
proselytizing can and is seriously punished. However, I do have a Indian Muslim friend that still works in SA but I was never able to kindel any friendships with the Saudies .

GB

This pretty much says it all.
CAN MUSLIMS BE GOOD AMERICANS?

This is very interesting and we all need to read it from start to finish
And send it on to everyone. Maybe this is why our American Muslims are
So quiet and not speaking out about any atrocities. Can a good Muslim be
A good American?

This question was forwarded to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia
for 20 years. The following is his reply:

Theologically - no. . . . Because his allegiance is to Allah, The moon
God of Arabia .

Religiously - no.. . . Because no other religion is accepted by His
Allah Except Islam (Quran, 2:256)(Koran)

Scripturally - no. . . Because his allegiance is to the five Pillars of
Islam and the Quran.

Geographically - no . Because his allegiance is to Mecca , to which he
Turns in prayer five times a day.

Socially - no. . . Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make
Friends with Christians or Jews .

Politically - no... . . Because he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual
Leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America ,
The great Satan.

Domestically - no. .. . Because he is instructed to marry four Women and
Beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34 )

Intellectually - no. . Because he cannot accept the American
Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he
believes the Bible to be corrupt.

Philosophically - no. . . . Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran does
Not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot
Co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.

Spiritually - no.. . . Because when we declare 'one nation under God,'
The Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to
As Heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in the Quran's 99
Excellent names.

Therefore, after much study and deliberation.... Perhaps we should be
Very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. - - - They obviously
Cannot be both 'good' Muslims and good Americans. Call it what you wish
it's still the truth. You had better believe it. The more who understand
This, the better it will be for our country and our future.

The religious war is bigger than we know or understand. ....

Footnote: The Muslims have said they will destroy us from within.
SO FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.

THE MARINES WANT THIS TO ROLL ALL OVER THE U.S.

Dhimmitude -- What does it mean?

Dhimmitude -- What does it mean?

Obama used it in the health care bill.
Now isn't this interesting? It was used in the health care law.

Every day there's another revelation of what Obama and his fellow Democrats are doing to our country.

Dhimmitude -- I had never heard the word until now. Type it into Google and start reading. Pretty interesting.
It's on page 107 of the healthcare bill. I looked this up on Google and yep, it exists. It is a REAL word.

Amish , scientologists, christian scientists and Muslims are exempt ..ARE EXEMPT ...from the requirements of the health care bill. I think I could become Amish a whole lot easier than muslim.

Word of the Day: Dhimmitude
Dhimmitude is the Muslim system of controlling non-muslim populations conquered throughjihad. Specifically, it is the TAXING of non-muslims in exchange for tolerating their presence AND as a coercive means of converting conquered remnants to Islam.

Obama Care allows the establishment of Dhimmitude and Sharia Muslim diktat in the United States. Muslims are specifically exempted from the government mandate to purchase insurance, and also from the penalty tax for being uninsured. Islam considers insurance to be "gambling", "risk-taking", and "usury" and is thus banned. Muslims are specifically granted exemption based on this.

How convenient. So I, as a Christian, will have crippling IRS liens placed against all of my assets, including real estate, cattle, and even accounts receivables, and will face hard prison time because I refuse to buy insurance or pay the penalty tax. Meanwhile, Louis Farrakhan will have no such penalty and will have 100% of his health needs paid for by the de facto government insurance. Non-muslims will be paying a tax to subsidize muslims. Period. This is Dhimmitude.

Dhimmitude serves two purposes: It enriches the muslim masters AND serves to drive conversions to Islam. In this case, the incentive to convert to Islam will be taken up by those in the inner-cities as well as the godless Generation X, Y, and Z types who have no moral anchor. If you don't believe in Christ to begin with, it is no problem whatsoever to sell Him for 30 pieces of silver. "Sure, I'll be a muslim if it means free health insurance and no taxes. Where do I sign, bro?"

I recommend sending this post to your contacts. This is desperately important and people need to know about it -- quickly!

14 Specific Improvised Weapons

14 Specific Improvised Weapons
I’ve been traveling a lot lately. And one segment of a recent trip was a ½ day ride on Amtrak where I couldn’t have “anything that could be used as a weapon”. I’m used to traveling to DC, where I can’t carry my firearm or a decent knife, but in order to avoid any problems if I got picked for random screening, I had to cache knives, multi-tools, scissors, pepper spray, and even my scalpel blade from my mini-med/survival kit before getting on the train.

There WAS a lady knitting for most of the 4 hour train ride with nice long pointy aluminum knitting needles. That was almost enough to make me want to start knitting.

So, today we’re going to cover 14 specific items that you can use to defend yourself, regardless of whether you’re at home when a home invasion happens, in a hotel, or just out-and-about.

I talked about this general concept a couple of months ago, and what you’re looking for is a way to focus your strikes, add mass and speed to your impact tool, and/or extend your reach if you find yourself in a situation where you need to defend yourself from a violent attack without a firearm or a fighting knife.

With that in mind, here are 14 specific items that are very common that make effective weapons. You’ll probably see, if not touch, all of them within the next 24 hours. I’ve also included the particular style of strike you’ll want to use with each item.

1. Shower curtain rod – puncture – Use it like a spear to focus your strike and extend your reach. If you’re lucky, it will break with the first strike and you’ll get a pointy end to focus your next strike even more. Don’t swing it…most shower curtain rods and clothes rods are fairly flimsy.

2. Clothes rod – puncture – Use it like a spear…hopefully it breaks on the first use and you get a point.

3. Sliding glass door rod –puncture – Use it like a spear.

4. Towel with soap or a soap holder – impact – Take the towel, put the heavy object in the middle, fold the towel in half one way, fold it in half the other way & get ready to swing. You can play with your folding methods to secure the heavy object better.

5. Sock with soap, soap holder, battery – impact

6. Pillowcase with soap, soap holder, battery – impact (or bed sheet, shirt, etc.)

7. Ceramic toilet tank lid. Break at an angle & use as a puncture weapon. Hold it with both hands, thrust the pointy end at your attacker, and put your entire body behind the strikes.

8. Fire extinguisher. Spray them with the white stuff & hit them with the red thing. I’m not sure who thought this up first, but the most colorful proponent of it is Clint Smith. In short, fire extinguishers are great weapons…especially if you have the element of surprise. I’m talking about the red metal ones…not the newer little plastic ones. The red metal ones are heavy and strong enough to swing at a head and the bottom edge helps to focus strikes nicely.

9. Floor lamp. Use it as a spear. Sooner or later the lamp part will break off, leaving you with a more focused impact point or it will stick in your attacker. Lamps are kind of awkward because of the cord. In training with them, I’ve had the lamp part break off, but still be connected by the cord. The biggest problem with this is surprise—if you’re surprised when it happens, your attacker will gain an advantage. If you just go with it and keep thrusting it at your attacker, you will gain an advantage.

10. Butcher block. Pointy knives for stabbing, serrated knives for slashing. Got a knife that’s pointy AND serrated? Stab with it. In a restaurant, or hotel even a butter knife will help focus your strikes more tightly, increasing your penetration and chances of causing internal damage.

11. Break off a wooden chair leg – puncture. Don’t be surprised if you get slivers…possibly nasty slivers.

12. Run at someone with all 4 legs of a chair aimed at them. (should look like a diamond rather than a square) Or, just thrust it at them with your arms and body weight. You want the top leg aimed at their head and you really don’t care if they block or avoid it or not, because the bottom leg will hit them in the gut and you have a shot at hitting their solar plexus or bladder. The important thing is to pile on additional aimed strikes after the first one until your attacker is non-functional.

13. Lamp cord disconnected from lamp, stripped so you have bare wires, and plugged into a power source – electrocution

14. Have a little bit of time…or coffee already made? Hot water in the face can distract your opponent enough to be able to completely take them out of the fight.

Have any other common, everyday items that can quickly be used as weapons? Share them by commenting below.

It’s important to remember that whether you have a firearm, another weapon, or just your body, you want to focus as much force as possible on the weakest parts of your attacker’s body.

Don’t punch someone in the gut when you can hit them in the solar plexus or the bladder.

Don’t punch an attacker on the hard bones of their face when you can simply crush their windpipe, strike their vagus nerve on the side of the neck, scratch their eyeball, or rupture their eardrum. Aiming can be the difference between just making someone mad and taking your attacker out of the fight.

With the impact weapons I mentioned, targeting is vital. Most people can take a few good strikes from a hard, fast moving object to the butt, legs, or arms, but not to the neck & head. If your life depends on the effectiveness of your strikes, aim for places on the body where you’re attacker is vulnerable.

Cutting weapons are the same…targeting is key.

As a note on stabbing versus cutting, Roman Legions conquered the world by being willing to take cuts and give stabs. Why? Because the body is able to survive multiple HORRIBLE, vicious slashes across the body, but there are more than a dozen easy targets where a 2” stab will quickly take an attacker out of the fight.

With this being Halloween weekend, I’ll take the liberty of getting a little gory for a second.

Some of the easiest stabbing locations to remember? Directly below the ribcage pointed upwards. You’ve got a ring of great targets all around the body at the bottom of the ribcage, like the spleen, pancreas, liver, & kidneys. If you’ve got something long and go through those first organs, you’ve got even better targets, like the lungs and heart.

This topic IS gruesome, and many people don’t like to think or talk about it. Even if you’re a vegan pacifist who won’t swat a mosquito, I believe it’s important to know how to respond to a violent attacker coming after you or a loved one. If you are unarmed and NEED to make an attacker non-functional as quickly, safely, and efficiently as possible, it’s important to know a handful of specific targets to strike.

Along with specific targets, it’s important to know the best ways to transfer as much force as possible through as small of a contact point as possible so that you can end the confrontation quickly…before it turns into an endurance event where you’re trading blows and taking damage.

If you want to dig into this, one of the best resources I’ve found is Tim Larkin’s Target Focus Training. I’ve been using Target Focus Training since the mid 90s, have every DVD, book (and VHS) he’s made, and have been through the live training multiple times. Tim trains all sorts of elite teams around the globe and he not only knows his stuff, he’s an INCREDIBLE teacher.

To find out more about Tim’s training, please go to http://SurviveInPlace.com/targetfocustraining . He’s put together a special package at a significant discount for my readers, called the “Human Weapons Package.” Of course, I’ve got it, I love it, and I fully recommend it.

My 110 pound wife and I regularly watch and go over Tim’s DVDs and the training gives her the peace of KNOWING that she can protect our 3 year old and 11 month old when I’m not around. And I can’t even begin to tell you how much peace of mind that gives me.

As a bonus, Tim pays me part of each sale that I send over, so if you buy through the link above, you’re not only saving a TON of money, you’re helping support the free Urban Survival Newsletter as well. Thanks in advance.

The Election and Conflict Resolution
Last week’s newsletter set off a little firestorm. From the comments, it was easy to see that while preppers tend to favor limited government, we’re spread out across the political spectrum. Thanks to everyone who contributed.

And, thanks to those of you who kept the disagreements civil. It’s important to remember that in a grid down survival situation, you’re going to have to deal with all sorts of people…possibly even outsiders enforcing martial law. In most cases, you don’t want to escalate conflict unless it is simply a tactical tool to achieve victory in the conflict. Escalating conflict simply to beat your chest and try to bully your opinion on someone else seldom, if ever, works.

We’re just days away from the election and I’m apprehensively optimistic. Elections always seem like vulnerable times to me, and I’m always happy when we get through them without incidents. I’m personally praying that the elections are uninterrupted, go fairly, and that people get into office at all levels of government who respect liberty, individual responsibility, and limited government.

EMPs In The News
Last week, I mentioned that there was considerable solar activity predicted for this week and another probable coronal mass ejection. So far, we’re looking good Interestingly enough, on Wednesday I was in a hotel and had a copy of the USA Today at my door when I got up. On the front of the Life section, there was an article on nuclear and solar EMPs.

It was written for the USA Today audience, which is incredibly broad, so it didn’t go into very much detail. Even so, I was excited to see EMPs discussed so prominently in a mass market publication.

To begin with, I’m sure thousands of conversations about prepping happened as a result…in offices, in car pools, at home, and at sporting events. Many people have become aware of the need to get prepared for disasters because of the threat of EMPs and it’s safe to assume that many more became “aware” and their realization that they need to prepare began this week.

I can personally tell you that several dozen people (close to 100) have written me to tell me that they became “switched on” after watching “Jericho,” reading “One Second After,” or watching/reading other fictional stories based on EMP events.

Any time stories like this are in the news, no matter how watered down they are, people wake up, decide to get prepared, and we become that much more stable as a country.

So, if you have any friends, neighbors, or relatives who read the USA Today, you might want to ask them if they read the article. This could be a GREAT opportunity to bring up prepping without divulging how much action you’ve taken or how much you’ve thought about it.

Think about it…it was in the USA Today. They distribute almost 2 million copies a day and 18 million more online. How extreme could it be?

Here’s some softball questions that you could ask:

-Have you ever thought about what you guys would do if the power went out and just didn’t come back on—like what they were talking about in the article?

-Which do you think is more likely—the solar one or the terrorist one?

-I decided to get a few days of food and water…just in case. What do you think? Is that silly?

-The government doesn’t have money to spend like they did back when Katrina happened. Do you think they’d help or would we just be on our own?

Keep the conversation light, resist the urge to talk too much, and ask lots of softball questions with easy outs. And most of all, remember that your goal is to find people who WANT to prep, not beat people over the head about the need to prep.

Here’s the link to the story so you will be able to talk about it intelligently and so that you won’t have to overplay your knowledge about EMPs: www.usatoday.com/tech/science/2010-10-26-emp_N.htm

If they want to learn more, please refer them here to the SecretsOfUrbanSurvival.com blog and simply tell them to enter “EMP” in the search bar that’s in the upper right hand corner of the screen. They’ll get exposed not only to several articles on EMPs, but other threats and practical strategies for getting prepared to survive short, medium, and long term disruptions in the power grid and breakdowns in civil order.

Who knows…you might be fortunate enough to have them buy the SurviveInPlace.com Urban Survival Course and have them ask you to be on their Mutual Aid Team (People who have gone through the course will know what I’m talking about.)

And if you haven’t gone through the course yet, maybe now’s the time that you should. You can learn more about it and get started now by going to www.SurviveInPlace.com

Until next week, God bless and stay safe.

Homeland Security -- Here They Come!!!

Homeland Security -- Here They Come!!!
Here They Come...this will make your day!

Kareem Shora , and Arif Alikhan

Well, boys and girls, today the fox is guarding the hen house. The wolves will be herding the sheep!

Obama appointed two devout Muslims to homeland security posts.

Obama and Janet Napolitano appointed Arif Alikhan, a devout Muslim, as Assistant Secretary for Policy Development. DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano swore-in Kareem Shora, a devout Muslim, who was born in Damascus, Syria, as ADC National Executive Director as a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC).

NOTE: Has anyone ever heard a new government official being identified as a devout Catholic, a devout Jew or a devout Protestant...? Just wondering.

Devout Muslims being appointed to critical Homeland Security positions? Doesn't this make you feel safer already?? Still guessing if your President is a Muslim or not?
That should make our home land much safer, huh!?

Was it not "Devout Muslim men" that flew planes into U.S. buildings? Was it not a Devout Muslim who killed 13 at Fort Hood ?

Please forward this important information to any who cares about the future of our Country.

Checked this on Snopes.com and its TRUE!

Why was there neither rhyme nor reason as to which dealerships of the Chrysler Corporation were to be closed?

This could be a scandal of epic proportions and one that makes Nixon'sWatergate or Clinton 's Monica Lewinsky affair pale by comparison. Why was there neither rhyme nor reason as to which dealerships of the Chrysler Corporation were to be closed? Roll the clock back to the weeks just before Chrysler declared bankruptcy. Chrysler, like GM, was in dire financial straits and federal government "graciously" offered to "buy the company" and keep them out of bankruptcy and "save jobs." Chrysler was, in the words of Obama and his administration, "Too big to fail," same story with GM.

The feds organized their "Automotive Task Force" to fix Chrysler and GM. Obama, in an act that is 100% unconstitutional, appointed a guy named Steve Rattnerto be the White House's official Car Czar - literally, that's what his title is. Rattner is the liaison between Obama, Chrysler, and GM.

Initially, the national media reported that Chrysler 'had made this list of dealerships'. Not true!

The Washington Examiner, Newsmax, Fox News and a host of other news agencies discovered that the list of dealerships was put together by the "Automotive TaskForce" headed by no one other than Mr. Steve Rattner.

Now the plot thickens.

Remember earlier we said that there was neither rhyme nor reason why certain dealerships were closed?

Actually there's a very interesting pattern as to who was closed down. Again, on May 27, 2009, The Washington Examiner and Newsmax exposed the connection.Amazingly, of the 789 dealerships closed by the federal government, 788 had donated money, exclusively to Republican political causes, while contributing nothing to Democratic political causes. The only "Democratic" dealership on the list was found to have donated $7,700 to Hillary's campaign, and a bit over $2,000 to John Edwards. This same dealership, reportedly, also gave $200.00 to Obama's campaign.

Does that seem a little odd to you?

Steve Rattner is the guy who put the list together. Well, he happens to be married to a Maureen White. Maureen happens to be the former national finance chairman of the Democratic National Committee. As such, she has access to campaign donation records from everyone in the nation- Republican or Democrat. But of course, this is just a wacky "coincidence," we're certain.

Then comes another really wacky "coincidence."

On that list of dealerships being closed down, a weird thing happened in Arkansas , North Louisiana , and Southern Missouri. It seems that Bill Clinton's former White House Chief of Staff, Mack McClarty, owns a chain of dealership in that region, partnered with a fellow by the name of Robert Johnson. Johnson happens to be founder of Black Entertainment Television and was a huge Obama supporter and financier.

These guys own a half dozen Chrysler stores under the company title of RLJ-McClarty-Landers. Interestingly, none of their dealerships were ordered closed - not one!

While all of their competing Chrysler/Dodge and Jeep dealership were! Eight dealerships located near the dealerships owned by McClarty and Johnson were ordered shut down.

Thus by pure luck, these two major Obama supporters now have virtual MONOPOLY on Chrysler sales in their zone. Isn't that amazing?

Go look in The Washington Examiner, the story's there, and it's in a dozen or so other web-based news organizations; this isn't being made up.

Now if you thought Chrysler was owned by Fiat, you are mistaken. Under the federal court ruling, 65% of Chrysler is now owned by the federal government and the United Auto Workers union! Fiat owns 20%.The other 15% is still privately owned and presumably will be traded on the stock market. Obama smiles and says he doesn't want to run the auto industry.

As horrifying as this is to comprehend, and being as how this used to be the United States of America , it would appear that the president has the power to destroy private businesses and eliminate upwards of 100,000 jobs just because they don't agree with his political agenda.

This is stuff you see on the news happening in other countries where there are DICTATORS, and it's happening right here, right now, in our back yard. There are voices in Washington demanding an explanation, but the "Automotive Task Force" has released no information to the public or to any of the senators demanding answers for what has been done.

Keep your ear to the ground for more on this story. If you've ever wanted to make a difference about anything in your life, get on the phone to your national senator or representative in the House and demand an investigation into this.

Benjamin Franklin had it right when he said, "All that's necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." Car Czar No More!! An amazing thing happened as this story was going to press. Obama's Car Czar, Steve Rattner, resigned on July 13 and was promptly replaced by former steel workers union boss Ron Bloom.

According to CBS News, Rattner left "to return to private life and spend time with his family." [GAGGG!!]

Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner said, "I hope that he takes another opportunity to bring his unique skills to government service in the future."

By the way, Rattner is under investigation for a multi-million dollar pay-to-play investment bank scandal in New York ... Uh-oh!

But, we're certain that had nothing to do with his resignation. And, according to several news sources out there, there are rumors he's being investigated for what could be pay-to-play scandal involving the closing of Chrysler and GM dealerships. Really? Again, that couldn't have anythingto with his resignation-that's ridiculous! Like CBS said, this guy just wants to "spend more quality time with his family."

Obama has 32 personally appointed "czars" who answer to no one but him, all of whom are acting without any Constitutional authority.

But hey, we're sure they all have "unique skills,"......as Tim Geithner likes to say! As Geithner does, viv-a-vis his income taxes!!... SOOOOO.

HOW'S THAT CHANGE WORKING FOR YOU?..

Check it out at the following website.....
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/politics/Obamas-auto-policy-All-in-the-Democratic-family-44414452.html - This goes beyond corruption inhigh places - to gross criminal actions on the part of our government!

I hope you will spread this far and wide, and hopefully the taxpaying public will demand some of that transparency we were promised......followed by criminal prosecution of the perpetrators!

What a crooked government we have!!!!! Vote 'em all out...November 2, 2010

The 9 Essentials to Sheltering in Place

The 9 Essentials to Sheltering in Place

When it comes to emergencies there’s items that are necessities and there’s items that are luxuries. Generally speaking you want to tackle the necessities first and then add additional items to increase the comfort level of the situation.

Here are 9 essentials you should have during a sheltering in place scenario, (keep in mind that you may be required to shelter in place somewhere besides your own home):

1. Water - Plan on 1 Gallon per person, per day for drinking and sanitation. Our water storage category includes items like Datrex Water Pouches and 5-Gallon Water Containers that can help you with your water needs.

2. Food - A supply of 3-5 days per person. For a lot of people the first couple of days can be supplemented by what’s already in the house. However, to insure that you always have your emergency food supply ready to go I recommend one of our 3-21 Day Food Supplies.

3. Clothes - In your 72-Hour Kit you want to be sure you have an extra pair of clothes and shoes for each person in your group/family.

4. Medications - It’s a good practice to collect 3-5 days worth of any prescription medications that you’re taking. Also be sure to note expiration dates so that you can rotate them appropriately.

5. Flashlight - When it comes to flashlights, don’t go cheap. There are good flashlights out their that are very affordable. Here’s some great options: Ultra-Bright 3-LED Dynamo Flashlight, 12-LED StreamLine Flashlight, or the ULTIMATE Dynamo Solar Powered Survival Radio.
6. Can Opener - This is another item that you want to be sure is high quality. There’s nothing worse than a can opener that won’t open cans.

7. Radio - The ideal option for a radio is one that has multiple options for powering the radio including, batteries, hand-crank, AC/DC, and/or

solar. The ULTIMATE Dynamo Solar Powered Survival Radio is a great option for this.

8. Hygiene Kit - Start with just the basics, soap, toilet paper and a toothbrush is enough to get most people by for 3-5 days.

9. First Aid Kit - Again, from a starting point perspective make sure that your first-aid kit at lest includes, antiseptic, gloves, bandages and your non-prescription medicine such as aspirin or Tylenol.

Put these 9 essential items in place and you’ve got a good foundation for a sheltering in place emergency kit!
