Eat More Fat! Well… Nature’s Healthy Fat

There is a nasty word out there in the weight loss world, and it’s “fat.” Everyone is trying to lose weight, to lose “fat.” All the diet foods are labeled “fat free” to be appealing to dieters, even if they are laden with sugar. When people see an overweight person they say, “Oh man, look at that fat person.”
But fat is not just a bad word. In fact, there is an entire family of fats that are beloved by healthcare professionals because they are healthy for you. In fact, these fats are not only healthy, they are essential for your body. They are known as omega-3s, or omega-3 fatty acids.
Omega-3s are the good-for-you unsaturated fatty acids comprised of the polyunsaturated trio of a-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).
While the omega-3 fatty acids are the big buzz word of today where healthy living and weight loss are concerned, they were actually discovered way back in the 1930s. During that decade it was found that these polyunsaturated fats were necessary for normal human growth to occur.
In the 1970s researchers studied the diets of the Eskimos of Greenland and discovered that two of the three omegas (DHA and EPA) were essential to heart health. The Eskimos were consuming large doses of these fatty acids through their seafood-rich diet. Moreover, they showed almost no signs of cardiovascular disease. That’s because these omega-3 fatty acids naturally reduce triglycerides and arterial plaque while reducing heart rate and maintaining healthy blood pressure. What an amazing family of fats.
Now where most supplements have to add the tag line “these claims have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA),” two of the three omegas HAVE been evaluated. In fact, EPA and DHA have both been awarded “qualified health claim” status by the FDA.
Here’s the statement from the FDA:
“Supportive but not conclusive research shows that consumption of EPA and DHA [n−3] fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.”
The Canadian Government has done additional research and has publicly stated: “DHA, an omega-3 fatty acid, supports the normal development of the brain, eyes and nerves.”
As one might guess, with the rise in popularity of the omega-3 fatty acids, advertisers are producing supplements and adding it to foods or just prominently labeling those foods that already have these good fats in them. A diet high in fish is all that is needed. But for those of you who either don’t enjoy fish or who want more omega-3s in your diet, the highest doses can be found in krill oil, fish oil and flaxseed oil supplements.
No matter how you look at these omega fats, they are good for you and essential for health. Who said all fat was bad?

The Problem with a Plan
The Problem with a Plan…
The problem with an emergency plan is that things never quite turn out like you plan. Can we then conclude that planning is a waste of time? Seriously, what’s the point if you’re not able to do exactly what you’ve planned on? Or maybe you should come up with a broad plan that gives you options? How ’bout just having some general disaster response concepts in your head?
While a plan may never quite turn out perfectly, it’s crucial that you have a plan in place if you expect to effectively respond to a disaster. Here’s three good reasons why you should have a written emergency plan.
1. Writing a plan formalizes the steps, and helps to ingrain your plan into your mind.
2. Having a written plan can dramatically relieve the stress of an emergency situation.
3. Creating a plan helps to identify deficiencies in tools and supplies.
While the problem with a plan is that things are probably not going to turn out the way you planned, the problem with not having a plan is that ‘things’ may not turn out at all.
So now that you buy into planning, imagine taking the time to thoroughly plan for a hurricane, you’ve got your supplies, you have an evacuation plan in case it becomes necessary, in fact you’ve even driven it a few times, in short you’ve gone the extra mile to be sure the plan is fool proof.
There’s only one problem, you live in Montana.
Before you can make a plan you need know what you’re planning for.
Take the time to write out the potential disasters in your area and then prioritize them. On a side note, for those of you with children, it’s extremely beneficial for you to include your children in your planning sessions. It can make all the difference in how they react mentally and emotionally when a disaster strikes.
As you start to identify your list of potential disasters you might realize that regardless of the disaster you have to determine, will this require “Sheltering-in-Place“ or do we “Grab-n-Go“? The answer to that question will have a major impact on how you should plan.

“These new findings suggest a direct link between poor dietary habits and inflammation of blood vessels, mediated by the fat cells surrounding the blood vessel wall,” said lead author Weintraub.
In order to maintain healthy blood vessels and help reverse the effects of a high-fat diet, I suggest oral chelation with the amino acid ethylenediamine tetra-acetic acid—or EDTA.
Indeed, EDTA chelation is very controversial—especially when discussed as an alternative to expensive heart surgery. The truth is, most doctors are inexperienced when it comes to chelation and don’t understand how it really works.

Why Food & Water Shouldn’t be Your #1 Priority
In the emergency preparedness industry I talk to a lot of people that are just starting out.
Most people when they try to make a go at getting ready on their own are initially inclined to start by stocking food. Once they start to get a nice little supply of food they then transition to a supply of water and then additional tools and supplies. There’s nothing wrong with this if your preparation is well ahead of the disaster and you get everything ready before you need to use it.
So if Food & Water aren’t the first priority, what is?
The first priority in an emergency situation is The Ability to Think Clearly. First and foremost you must have the right mindset. Everything else takes a back seat.
Case in point, when me and my wife are going to take the family somewhere, what’s the first thing we do when we get the kids in the car? That’s right, we make sure every one of them is safely secured in a car seat, booster and seatbelt. Why do we do this? Because we’ve seen and observed from other’s experience that should an accident occur while we’re driving, the greatest likelihood for our children to survive is if their secured.
Knock on wood, I’ve never been in a car accident with my children, and we’ve driven thousands of miles. Is it then safe to assume that since I’ve never been in an accident over the last 10 years there’s really no reason to buckle in the kids?
Of course not. We do this because despite a solid past driving record, there’s still a risk that comes with driving and the trade off of the time it takes to putting my kids in a seat belt is worth the extra safety and security it provides.
This type of mindset is crucial to insuring you and your family’s safety in a disaster. Despite the fact that you may have never faced a true emergency situation in the past, you’re not justified in not taking the time to “put the kids in a seat belt”. I guarantee that getting ready will be worth the trade off.
Keys to getting a ‘Disaster Ready‘ Mindset
1. Identify the potential disasters that could happen in your area.
A list might include, earthquake, hurricane, car accident, contaminated water, house fire, etc…
2. Prioritize the list of potential disasters.
Prioritize the list in the order of not just likelihood, but in the order of what you’re going to actually commit to prepare for.
3. Make A Plan.
Plans can be tricky because more often than not, things don’t go exactly as planned. However, a plan serves the purpose of developing the right mindset. Through out the planning process, you become educated and gain a better grasp of both the options you have available and the supplies you’ll need to carry out your plan.

We were in slow-moving traffic the other day and the car in> front of us had an Obama bumper sticker on it. It read:
"Pray for Obama. Psalm 109:8".
My husband's Bible was lying on the dash board, he got it
opened it up to the scripture and read it. He started laughing
and laughing. Then he read it to me. I couldn't believe what
it said. I had a good laugh, too.

At last - I can voice a Biblical prayer for our president!

Is it just me or has anyone else found the Star Wars Saga to be deeply profound and insightful? Who knew that this movie was all about Emergency Preparedness. Here’s some great tips to help you get ready…oh and “May the Force be With You!”

When it comes to getting prepared for an emergency you either do or do not, there is no try. When we say that we’ll try what we’re actually saying is, I’ll do it if I get around to it and that type of mind set will not get you ready ahead of the proverbial storm. You either do it (Get Ready) or you do not (Don’t Get Ready).

When a disaster strikes, and it will, those that weather the storm are those that took the time to get educated and prepared. When I say prepared I’m referring to not only physical preparations like food, water and emergency supplies. I’m referring to getting emotionally, mentally and physically prepared. A lot of the emotional and mental preparation will come from the peace of mind that you get when you know you have a plan in place and the necessary tools and supplies to execute the plan.

Ok, sure Hans was actually referring to being crushed by a futuristic trash compactor, but that was just a metaphor for any emergency situation. And whether you’re not prepared to stop a trash compactor or to get past the next disaster you’re gonna be a lot thinner.

Clearly the dialogue between Luke and Yoda as Luke is going into the cave on Dagobah to fight Darth Vader to complete his Jedi training is a metaphor for getting prepared for an emergency. I mean sure on the surface it appears to be a metaphor about Luke facing his darkest fears, yada, yada, but if you pull back the layers at it’s core it’s all about the importance of getting ready for an emergency. *I’m arcing my hand in front of your face -Jedi Mind Trick* As I say, “You see this clearly now”.
Anyway, back to the quote, Luke says, “What’s in there?” (metaphorically) So what’s in your 72-Hour Kit? And of course Yoda in all his profoundness replies, “Only what you take with you.” So what are you taking with you in your kit?
If you won’t follow my advice, at least consider Yoda’s.

One sunny day in January, 2013 an old man approached the White
House from across Pennsylvania Avenue, where he'd been sitting on a park bench.
He spoke to the U.S. Marine standing guard and said, "I would like to go
in and meet with President Obama."
The Marine looked at the man and said, "Sir, Mr. Obama is no
longer president and no longer resides here."

Snopes receives funding from an undisclosed source. The source is
undisclosed because Snopes refuses to disclose that source. The
Democratic Alliance, a funding channel for uber-Leftist (Marxist)
Billionaires (George Soros etc.), direct funds to an "Internet Propaganda
Arm" pushing these views. The Democratic Alliance has been reported to
instruct Fundees to not disclose their funding source.
For the past few years (http://www.snopescom/ has positioned itself, or
others have labeled it, as the 'tell-all final word' on any comment,
claim and email. But for several years people tried to find out who
exactly was behind snopes.com. It is run by a husband and wife team -
that's right, no big office of investigators and researchers, no team of
lawyers. It's just a mom-and-pop operation that began as a hobby. David
and Barbara Mikkelson in the San Fernando Valley of California started
the website about 13 years ago and they have no formal background or
experience in investigative research.
The reason for the questions - or skepticisms - is a result of snopes.com
claiming to have the bottom line facts to certain questions or issue when
in fact they have been proven wrong. Also, there were criticisms the
Mikkelsons were not really investigating and getting to the 'true' bottom
of various issues.
A few months ago, when my State Farm agent Bud Gregg in Mandeville
hoisted a political sign referencing Barack Obama and made a big splash
across the Internet, 'supposedly' the Mikkelson's claim to have
researched this issue before posting their findings on snopes.com. In
their statement they claimed the corporate office of State Farm pressured
Gregg into taking down the sign, when in fact nothing of the sort 'ever'
took place. I personally contacted David Mikkelson (and he replied back
to me) thinking he would want to get to the bottom of this and I gave him
Bud Gregg's contact phone numbers - and Bud was going to give him phone
numbers to the big exec's at State Farm in Illinois who would have been
willing to speak with him about it. He never called Bud. In fact, I
learned from Bud Gregg that no one from snopes.com ever contacted anyone
with State Farm.
Yet, snopes.com issued a statement as the 'final factual word' on the
issue as if they did all their homework and got to the bottom of things -
not!
Then it has been learned the Mikkelson's are very Democratic (party) and
extremely liberal. As we all now know from this presidential election,
liberals have a purpose agenda to discredit anything that appears to be
conservative. There has been much criticism lately over the Internet with
people pointing out the Mikkelson's liberalism revealing itself in their
website findings. Gee, what a shock?
So, I say this now to everyone who goes to snopes.com to get what they
think to be the bottom line fact 'proceed with caution.' Take what it
says at face value and nothing more. Use it only to lead you to their
references where you can link to and read the sources for yourself.
Plus,you can always search a subject and do the research yourself.
I have found this to be true also! Many videos of Obama I tried to verify
on Snopes and they said they were False. Then they gave their liberal
slant! I have suspected some problems with snopes for some time now, but
I have only caught them in half-truths. If there is any subjectivity they
do an immediate full left rudder.
I have recently discovered that Snopes.com is owned by a flaming liberal
and this man is in the tank for Obama. There are many things they have
listed on their site as a hoax and yet you can go to You tube yourself
and find the video of Obama actually saying these things. So you see, you
cannot and should not trust Snopes.com, ever for anything that remotely
resembles truth! I don't even trust them to tell me if email chains are
hoaxes anymore.
A few conservative speakers on MySpace told me aboutSnopes.com. A few
months ago and I took it upon myself to do a little research to find out
if it was true. Well, I found out for myself that it is true. Anyway just
FYI please don't use Snopes.com anymore for fact checking and make your
friends aware of their political leanings as well. Many people still
thinkSnopes.com is neutral and they can be trusted as factual. We need to
make sure everyone is aware that that is a hoax in itself.

We know Dick Lamm as the former Governor of Colorado. In that context his thoughts are particularly poignant. Last week there was an immigration overpopulation conference in Washington , DC , filled to capacity by many of America 's finest minds and leaders. A brilliant college professor by the name of Victor Hansen Davis talked about his latest book, 'Mexifornia,' explaining how immigration - both legal and illegal was destroying the entire state of California . He said it would march across the country until it destroyed all vestiges of The American Dream.
Moments later, former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm stood up and gave a stunning speech on how to destroy America.
The audience sat spellbound as he described eight methods for the destruction of the United States . He said, 'If you believe that America is too smug, too self-satisfied, too rich, then let's destroy America . It is not that hard to do. No nation in history has survived the ravages of time. Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and fall and that 'An autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit suicide.''
'Here is how they do it,' Lamm said:
'First, to destroy America , turn America into a bilingual or multi-lingual and bicultural country. History shows that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and antagonism of two or more competing languages and cultures. It is a blessing for an individual to be bilingual; however, it is a curse for a society to be bilingual. The historical scholar, Seymour Lipset, put it this way: 'The histories of bilingual and bicultural societies that do not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension, and tragedy.' Canada , Belgium , Malaysia , and Lebanon all face crises of national existence in which minorities press for autonomy, if not independence. Pakistan and Cyprus have divided. 'Second, to destroy America , invent 'multiculturalism' and encourage immigrants to maintain their culture. Make it an article of faith that the Black and Hispanic dropout rates are due solely to prejudice and discrimination by the majority. Every other explanation is out of bounds.
'Third, we could make the United States an 'Hispanic Quebec ' without much effort. The key is to celebrate diversity rather than unity. As Benjamin Schwarz said in the Atlantic Monthly recently: 'The apparent success of our own multi-ethnic and multicultural experiment might have been achieved not by tolerance but by hegemony. Without the dominance that once dictated ethnocentriy and what it meant to be an American, we are left with only tolerance and pluralism to hold us together.' There was no applause. A chilling fear quietly rose like an ominous cloud above every attendee at the conference. Every American in that room knew that everything Lamm enumerated was proceeding methodically, quietly, darkly, yet pervasively across the United States today. Discussion is being suppressed. Over 100 languages are ripping the foundation of our educational system and national cohesiveness. Even barbaric cultures that practice female genital mutilation are growing as we celebrate 'diversity.' American jobs are vanishing into the Third World as corporations create a Third World in America Take note of California and other states. To date, ten million illegal aliens and growing fast. It is reminiscent of George Orwell's book '1984.' In that story, three slogans are engraved in the Ministry of Truth building: 'War is peace,' 'Freedom is slavery,' and 'Ignorance is strength.'
Governor Lamm walked back to his seat. It dawned on everyone at the conference that our nation and the future of this great democracy is deeply in trouble and worsening fast. If we don't get this immigration monster stopped within three years, it will rage like a California wildfire and destroy everything in its path, especially The American Dream.

We know Dick Lamm as the former Governor of Colorado. In that context his thoughts are particularly poignant. Last week there was an immigration overpopulation conference in Washington , DC , filled to capacity by many of America 's finest minds and leaders. A brilliant college professor by the name of Victor Hansen Davis talked about his latest book, 'Mexifornia,' explaining how immigration - both legal and illegal was destroying the entire state of California . He said it would march across the country until it destroyed all vestiges of The American Dream.Moments later, former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm stood up and gave a stunning speech on how to destroy America.
The audience sat spellbound as he described eight methods for the destruction of the United States . He said, 'If you believe that America is too smug, too self-satisfied, too rich, then let's destroy America . It is not that hard to do. No nation in history has survived the ravages of time. Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and fall and that 'An autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit suicide.''
'Here is how they do it,' Lamm said:
'First, to destroy America , turn America into a bilingual or multi-lingual and bicultural country. History shows that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and antagonism of two or more competing languages and cultures. It is a blessing for an individual to be bilingual; however, it is a curse for a society to be bilingual. The historical scholar, Seymour Lipset, put it this way: 'The histories of bilingual and bicultural societies that do not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension, and tragedy.' Canada , Belgium , Malaysia , and Lebanon all face crises of national existence in which minorities press for autonomy, if not independence. Pakistan and Cyprus have divided. Nigeria suppressed an ethnic rebellion. France faces difficulties with Basques, Bretons, Corsicans and Muslims.'

This is an Airman's response to Cindy Williams' (not the Cindy Williams from Laverne and Shirley) editorial piece in the Washington Times about MILITARY PAY, it should be printed in all newspapers across America.
Ms. Cindy Williams wrote a piece for the Washington Times denouncing the pay raise(s) coming service members' way this year citing that she stated a 13% wage increase was more than they deserve.
A young airman from Hill AFB responds to her article below. He ought to get a bonus for this.
Dear Ms Williams:
I just had the pleasure of reading your column, "Our GI's earn enough" and I am a bit confused. Frankly, I'm wondering where this vaunted overpayment is going, because as far as I can tell, it disappears every month between DFAS (The Defense Finance and Accounting Service) and my bank account. Checking my latest earnings statement I see that I make $1,117.80 before taxes per month. After taxes, I take home $874.20. When I run that through the calculator, I come up with an annual salary of $13,413.60 before taxes, and $10,490.40 after.
I work in the Air Force Network Control Center where I am part of the team responsible for a 5,000 host computer network. I am involved with infrastructure segments, specifically with Cisco Systems equipment. A quick check under jobs for "Network Technicians" in the Washington, D.C. area reveals a position in my career field, requiring three years experience in my job. Amazingly, this job does NOT pay $13,413.60 a year. No, this job is being offered at $70,000 to $80,000 per annum. I'm sure you can draw the obvious conclusions.
Given the tenor of your column, I would assume that you NEVER had the pleasure of serving your country in her armed forces.
Before you take it upon yourself to once more castigate congressional and DOD leadership for attempting to get the families in the military's lowest pay brackets off of WIC and food stamps, I suggest that you join a group of deploying soldiers headed for AFGHANISTAN; I leave the choice of service branch up to you. Whatever choice you make though, opt for the SIX month rotation: it will guarantee you the longest possible time away from your family and friends, thus giving you full "deployment experience."
As your group prepares to board the plane, make sure to note the spouses and children who are saying good-bye to their loved ones. Also take care to note that several families are still unsure of how they'll be able to make ends meet while the primary breadwinner is gone. Obviously they've been squandering the "vast" piles of cash the government has been giving them.
Try to deploy over a major holiday; Christmas and Thanksgiving are perennial favorites. And when you're actually over there, sitting in a foxhole, shivering against the cold desert night, and the flight sergeant tells you that there aren't enough people on shift to relieve you for chow, remember this: trade whatever MRE's (meal-ready-to-eat) you manage to get for the tuna noodle casserole or cheese tortellini, and add Tabasco to everything. This gives some flavor.
Talk to your loved ones as often as you are permitted; it won't be nearly long enough or often enough, but take what you can get and be thankful for it. You may have picked up on the fact that I disagree with most of the points you present in your open piece.
But, tomorrow from KABUL, I will defend to the death your right to say it.
You see, I am an American fighting man, a guarantor of your First Amendment right and every other right you cherish. On a daily basis, my brother and sister soldiers worldwide ensure that you and people like you can thumb your collective noses at us, all on a salary that is nothing short of pitiful and under conditions that would make most people cringe. We hemorrhage our best and brightest into the private sector because we can't offer the stability and pay of civilian companies.
And you, Ms. Williams, have the gall to say that we make more than we deserve?

A Mexican, an Arab,and a Arizona girl
A Mexican, an Arab,and a Arizona girl are in the same bar. When the Mexican finishes his beer,he throws his glass in the air, pulls out his pistol, and shoots the glass to pieces.He says, 'In Mexico ,our glasses are so cheap we don't need to drink with the same one twice.' The Arab, obviously impressed by this, drinks non-alcohol beer (cuz he's a muslim!),throws it into the air, pulls out his AK-47, and shoots the glass to pieces.He says, 'In the Arab World, we have so much sand to make glasses that we don't need to drink with the same one twice either.'The Arizona girl, cool as a cucumber, picks up her beer,downs it in one gulp, throws the glass into the air, whips out her 45, and shoots the Mexican and the Arab. Catching her glass,setting it on the bar, and calling for a refill,she says, 'In Arizona , we have so many illegal aliens that we don't have to drink with the same ones twice.'

Sometime this year, we taxpayers will again receive another 'Economic Stimulus' payment
Sometime this year, we taxpayers will again receive another 'Economic
Stimulus' payment.
This is indeed a very exciting program, and I'll explain it by
using a Q & A format:
Q. What is an 'Economic Stimulus' payment ?
It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.
Q.. Where will the government get this money ?
From taxpayers.
Q. So the government is giving me back my own money ?
A. Only a smidgen of it.
Q. What is the purpose of this payment ?
A. The plan is for you to use the money to purchase a
high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.
Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China ?
A.. Shut up.
Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the U.S. economy by
spending your stimulus check wisely:
If you spend the stimulus money at Wal-Mart, the money will
go to China or Sri Lanka .
If you spend it on gasoline, your money will go to the
Arabs.
If you purchase a computer, it will go to India , Taiwan or
China .
If you purchase fruit and vegetables, it will go to Mexico ,
Honduras and Guatemala ..
If you buy an efficient car, it will go to Japan or Korea .
If you purchase useless stuff, it will go to Taiwan .
If you pay your credit cards off, or buy stock, it will go
to management bonuses and they will hide it offshore.
Instead, keep the money in America by:
1) Spending it at yard sales, or
2) Going to ball games, or
3) Spending it on prostitutes, ,or
4) Beer or
5) Tattoos.
(These are the only American businesses still operating in the U.S. )
Conclusion:
Go to a ball game with a tattooed prostitute that you met at a yard
sale and drink beer all day !
